Are we registered to practice Chinese medicine?

Jeff Shearer  is a registered by the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia supported by AHPRA. Jeff is registered as an acupuncturist and to dispense Chinese herbs.

What does registration mean? In 2012 Chinese medicine became a registered health profession as a way of protecting the public from poorly trained practitioners. A registered practitioner now requires a 5 year degree to be accepted under the national scheme. Registration requires the use of the terms acupuncturist and Chinese medicine practitioner be restricted to those with adequate training. Acupuncture however is not protected under the act so to be sure you are getting the real deal make sure you are being treated by a registered for acupuncturist and/or Chinese medicine practitioner.
